It's ok to need help, and these are local organizations and resources that help. You may also be able to contribute or volunteer to help others with some of these organizations if you are able.

The Cook County Clerk provides information on voter registration status, polling places, how to vote, election dates and results, information about elected officials, along with information on becoming an election judge and more.

Illinois Department on Aging Legal Assistance
Senior legal assistance offices provide legal services to Illinoisans 60 years of age or older. Legal assistance providers advocate for and represent older clients in civil cases, including elder abuse and neglect, financial exploitation, consumer fraud, landlord-tenant relationships, nursing home residents’ rights, and conflicts over benefit programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, Social security and pensions. They also help with simple estate planning, living wills, powers of attorney, and conduct educational programs regarding legal rights on a wide variety of legal issues.

Provides people who are hearing impaired, speech disabled, or blind telecommunication access by supplying relay service and equipment such as amplified telephones and braille phones.
