We are excited to introduce a fantastic new service that will expand your access to materials across Illinois: Find More Illinois (FMIL). Starting Tuesday, August 13, this innovative platform will be available directly through our library catalog, making it easier than ever for you to get your hands on the resources you need.
What is FMIL?
Find More Illinois (FMIL) is an interlibrary loan (ILL) request platform that allows you to search for and request items from libraries beyond our local network. If you’re looking for a book, article, or other resource that isn’t available within our CCS consortium, FMIL opens up a whole new world of possibilities by connecting you with libraries across the state.
How Does It Work?
Using FMIL is simple and convenient. When you search our catalog and find that the item you’re looking for isn’t available, you’ll see a message inviting you to “Find More Illinois.” Here’s what happens next:
- Click on the “Find More Illinois” link: This will take you to the FMIL site, where you can search for your item.
- Log in with your library card number and password: You’ll use your existing library account credentials to access FMIL.
- Place your request: Once logged in, you can place a hold on the item you want, and it will be delivered to your local library for pickup.

With FMIL, the search for that perfect book, rare document, or hard-to-find resource becomes much easier. Here are a few benefits of using this new service:
