Illinois Libraries Presents: 9to5: The Story of a Movement (R)(Z)

Watch the award-winning documentary from home! It tells the story of the 9to5 movement, founded in the 1970s by Boston secretaries to fight workplace harassment, inequity, and wage gaps. This movement, which inspired the hit film 9 to 5, became a national force and a vital but often overlooked part of 20th-century U.S. history. Directed by Oscar-winning documentarian Julia Reichert, the film features Jane Fonda, Dolly Parton, and Lily Tomlin. This program will not be shown in-person at the library.
