Opioid overdoses are a very serious problem. In suburban Cook County in 2020 alone, there were 487 opioid-involved overdose deaths. The University of IL Extension provides training that describes the statistics surrounding opioid use, emerging trends, how to respond to an opioid overdose, and how to use life-saving nasal naloxone. University of IL Extension has also partnered with the
Cook County Department of Public Health to provide free Naloxone to be given out at the end of the training!
