Lincolnwood Library -- Strategic Plan -- Important Dates

Important Dates

  • Community Stakeholders Focus Group, Wednesday July 18th 7:00PM

  • Stakeholders will identify community needs that the Library could potentially address and provide insight on why residents do not visit the Library. This phase will consist of a discussion session with 10-12 community stakeholders. Typically, respondents are leaders in municipal government, education, community organizations, social service agencies, religious organizations, park districts, senior centers and other community and neighborhood groups as appropriate. The Library will select and invite community leaders who can knowledgeably discuss the needs of the community and how the Library might help address these needs. The session will span 90 to 120 minutes.
  • Library Board of Trustees Input Session, Thursday July 19th 7:30PM

  • This session will familiarize the Board with the planning process and get their thoughts on the community’s needs and how they would like to see the Library evolve in the next few years.
  • Community Kickoff, Wednesday August 1st, 7:00PM

  • This meeting provides the opportunity for all community residents to share their desires and ideas to help shape the Library’s future. If desired, residents who cannot attend the meeting can contribute their thoughts by sending an email to sbochenski@lincolnwoodlibrary.org.
  • Staff Input Session, Friday August 10th, 9:30AM

  • All staff will have an opportunity to participate in strategic planning. The Staff Input Session is the primary opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas. The session will include: • An overview of findings from Stakeholders and community input sessions • Conducting a SWOT analysis • Identifying service priorities • Identifying core values of the Library (ultimately, these will help inform the mission statement)
