Library Resources for Investors

Posted & filed under Library blog, Technology.

On Wednesday, February 11, the library will offer its first Resources for Investors class. Here’s a sneak preview of two of the resources that will be covered, Morningstar Investment Research Center and Standard & Poor’s (S&P) NetAdvantage.

MorningstarMorningstar includes market data from all major equity exchanges and indexes in the world. Search by ticker or name for stock, mutual fund, and exchange-traded fund (ETF) information, or try the Portfolio X-Ray tool to see how your investments are doing. Be sure to check out the many articles and videos on investing, with new content added regularly. Just last week, Morningstar’s 5-Point Retirement Portfolio Check-Up gave readers step-by-step advice for ensuring the health of their investments. To access Morningstar outside the library, use this link and enter your library card number; when you have finished, please click End Session.

S&P NetAdvantageS&P NetAdvantage is another comprehensive source of investment information and analysis. Research tools include in-depth Company Profiles and Industry Surveys, analyst ratings, and the S&P Register directory of executives and officials. Dynamic content like the Focus Stock of the Week and the Rising & Falling Stars chart helps you stay on top of ever-shifting markets. To access S&P NetAdvantage outside the library, use this link. In the login area on the left-hand side of the page, enter Lincolnwood as the user ID and your library card number as the password, then click Go.
