GATE Genre Project Book Talks

Posted & filed under Blog.

Recently, some of the YTS staff took some time to record some book talks for upcoming GATE genre project for grades 3-8, which are as follows:

3rd: Realistic Fiction

4th: Realistic Animal Fiction/Non-Fiction

5th: Contemporary Issues (Society and Environmental)

6th grade: mysteries

7th grade: sci fi

8th grade: mystery/horror/suspense

We made sure to cover all our basis and have videos available for each grade to help you complete assignments, and provide you with the best books possible. Although, these books are great for anyone looking for something in one of these genres regardless if you’re working on the project or not, and they definitely go beyond that one grade. Also, if you need even more options, check out our website and link to a complete bibliography of books at http://lincolnwoodlibrary.org/kids-events/book-talks/. Or, if you’re looking for something even more personalized, you can always stop by the library in person and ask the YTS staff for a recommendation. That way, choosing a book will be one less thing you’ll have to worry about and you can just focus on reading a good book.

We will be posting other book talks here soon, on top of all our regular information, but this provides a great introduction to several books in almost every major genre. Be sure to let us know if there are any genres or topics you would like to see.  Enjoy!
