  1. Click  My Account at the top of any page.
  2. Enter your library card number (no spaces) and password (default password is patron).
  3. View checkouts, holds, and fines by clicking the corresponding links.

…borrow items if I don't live in Lincolnwood?

Cardholders of libraries within Illinois can register their card for reciprocal borrowing privileges by visiting the Circulation Desk with their ‘home’ library card and valid state issued ID (Driver’s License or State ID with name, photo, and current address) or one photo ID and one document with name and current address.

…donate to the library?

  • To donate funds in the form of a check, make it payable to the Lincolnwood Public Library District and drop it off at the Circulation Desk.
  • Gently used books can be dropped off at the Circulation Desk.

…find magazine and newspaper articles?

Visit the Circulation Desk with either a valid state-issued ID (Driver’s License or State ID with name, photo, and current address) OR a photo ID AND one document with name and current address.

…get a museum pass?

Visit the Youth & Teen Services desk to check out an admission pass or special discount offer to one of several local museums using your Lincolnwood Library card. More information.

…get email/text notifications?

To sign up to be notified when your items are ready for pick up or when your checkouts are overdue, click here. You will need to enter your library card number and password (patron unless you’ve changed it).

…get homework help?

There are several ways to access library news and program information.  All Lincolnwood residents receive a quarterly mailed newsletter with listings for upcoming events and services.  Anyone can view digital copies of the newsletters by visiting the Lincolnwood Library page at Issuu.  You can also opt to receive regular library eNews updates by providing your email here.

…know how long I can keep an item?

Our current loan periods are:

  • Audiobooks, Books, CDs, Kindles, and Magazines — 3 weeks
  • DVDs and Blu-rays — 2 weeks
  • Video Games — 2 weeks
  • Interlibrary Loans — 3 weeks, unless otherwise directed by the lending library
  • Umbrellas — 3 weeks

…pay my fines?

You can pay your fines with cash at the Circulation Desk. To pay with a credit/debit card, log in to your account, click the Fines tab, and enter the required information.

…place a hold?

  1. Search our catalog for the item.
  2. When you find the item you want, click the “Place Hold” button.
  3. You’ll be asked to log into your account if you haven’t already done so.
  4. Log in with your Lincolnwood Library card number and password (the default password is patron)
  5. Confirm your request.
  6. You will be notified when the item is ready for pick-up.

Holds can be placed by Lincolnwood patrons only.

…print, copy, scan, fax?

Black & white and color printers are available with 8.5″x11″ paper. You may print from any library computer, from anywhere, or from your mobile device using the PrinterOn app (available in the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store). The all-in-one copy, scan, fax machine is located in the Adult Computer Lab.

  • Black & White prints/copies — 15¢ per page
  • Color prints/copies — 55¢ per page
  • Scanning (to email, USB, etc.) — Free
  • Faxing — Free

…register for an event?

Go to our calendar to register online. The event will have a Register or Waiting List button if registration is required.
