Explore with Explora

explora databaseExplora is a new website that makes it easy to search two of the library’s research databases, MasterFile Premier and Science Reference Center, simultaneously.

Explora’s colorful, mobile-friendly home page is updated weekly with resources related to current events. Also on the home page, students can browse categories such as Health and Geography & Culture for research project ideas – a handy trick to keep in mind when school starts next month!

In addition to thousands of periodicals, reference books, primary source documents, maps, and photographs from MasterFile Premier and Science Reference Center, Explora includes some 60,000 videos from the Associated Press.

To start exploring Explora, select Resources A-Z from the Research & Learning menu at the top of any page of the library’s website, then scroll to the Explora link. If you are outside of the library building, enter your Lincolnwood library card number for access.

At the top of your search results list, a topic overview article provides a great point of entry for your research. Articles, available in PDF and/or HTML format, can be saved, printed, emailed, and cited. HTML articles can also be translated to various languages, with a text-to-speech feature that provides access to the hearing impaired and those who are new to reading English.
