Information Services Librarian – Full Time

Do you enjoy creating and teaching technology classes in one on one and group settings?  If the answer is yes, we would love to talk to you about joining us as a full-time Information Services Librarian in our beautifully renovated space bordering the city of Chicago.

Our perfect candidate will be a tech whiz with an abundance of patience for teaching adults of all skill levels, a friendly and outgoing customer service genius, and a master troubleshooter/trainer of library resources such as OverDrive and hoopla.  In return for all of your awesomeness, we offer a fun, friendly, collaborative work environment.

Primary responsibilities include planning and facilitating technology classes and one-on-ones, assisting patrons with Digital Media Lab projects, exploring and implementing new patron focused technology services and materials, reference and reader’s advisory, and collection development.

Applications will be accepted until August 21. Salary range is $40,000-$48,000 DOQ annually with full competitive benefits. The position will begin working in early October. There is an opportunity for a higher starting salary if the candidate is willing and able to work a non-traditional schedule such as Tuesday through Saturday, or second shift (1:00PM-9:00PM). Minimum qualifications: MLIS from an ALA accredited graduate school and two years’ experience working with adults in a public library setting. Advanced computer skills required, including: strong knowledge and experience with Mac and Windows operating systems and hardware; strong knowledge and experience with Android and iOS; strong knowledge and experience with consumer and professional digital media content creation software for audio, video, photography, animation, illustration and music.

Content Specialist – Full Time – Marketing Department

Do you love memes? Excellent. Do you love staying on top of trends? Wonderful. Do you love analyzing data and statistics? Super. Are you a combination of all those things?

Lincolnwood Public Library is seeking a creative-minded Content Specialist who is passionate about both digital media and traditional advertising. Candidates should be interested in what makes someone share and how people communicate. This position is focused on print and digital marketing strategies and creating publicity that is delightful, interesting, original, and engaging to audiences of all ages. The ideal candidate is comfortable being involved in every part of the creative process, from generating ideas using a variety of formats for a wide range of services and programs to participating in patron and staff communication while handling revisions with ease and a smile.

Minimum qualifications: Requires expertise typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or marketing-related degree. Minimum 2 years marketing experience in a comparable business organization or library is necessary. Experience in video editing or video production preferred.

Ability to effectively use industry standard design and editing software, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere. Knowledge of Windows operating system necessary.

Video Production
Considerable knowledge of video production including recording, lighting, sound, editing, and exporting.

Digital Marketing
Knowledge and understanding of eNewsletters, Social Media management and website management necessary. Knowledge of WordPress preferred.

Demonstrated practice in gathering and interpreting insights across social media platforms and digital communication for statistical use. Strong understanding of Google analytics preferred.

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Possess interpersonal skills for working with patrons, vendors, library staff and general public.
